Chris Kitze (American, 1959) My lifelong romance with the photographic arts began when I took an Instamatic photo of Apollo 13 on its launch pad. Trained in commercial design studios and photographic labs, I worked in advertising, product and technical photography, as well as traditional landscape fine art photography before recognizing the emerging possibilities in software and digital media. Founding several high technology media companies, I produced over 50 multimedia CD-ROM titles and a number of noteworthy web sites including Point Communications and Xoom.com. Three years ago, I was compelled to return to the photographic and media arts to explore my fascination with the intersection of technology, media and popular culture. My work is solitary, yet created in public places, where it bears witness to a global transformation. My work is represented by Scott Richards Contemporary Art in San Francisco. Degree 1981 B.S.
