DOUBLE SLIT - Pyramids, 2008 and 2006
This realm is a place of duality, where the ambiguity between real and unreal and seen and unseen create tension, making the hidden more apparent.
DOUBLE SLIT - The Double Slit Experiment revealed a hidden quantum reality when it proved that observation can change the outcome of an experiment. When the choice between two possibilities is made, a new reality is created. We live in this quantum reality. It can be seen with your own eyes and by using ordinary photographs that document an observed "reality", you can see that thoughts create realities. Because photos can trigger memories and raise the viewer's awareness of their surroundings, it is possible to break free from this dimension. Each choice you make takes you further down the path of cultivation, pulling back the veil to reveal truth or fiction around us. To see, change your mind.
THE ELECTRIC IMAGE - Objects reflect and collide with one another, creating an improvisational mise-en-scène replete with unintended meaning and full of ambivalence. Questioning the new realism of digital media and its manipulation of desire and fear through the use of familiar icons and archetypes, The Electric Image exposes how easily one can appropriate, manipulate, and distribute the digital image, challenging photography’s traditions of originality and authority. What emerges is a new visual mythology not unlike software, which is malleable in the hands of a user and transformative of cultures.
